Several times on this blog I have presented songs that are classics of American folk and popular music. I’ve tried to point out the long history of some songs, their cultural richness, their appeal. Time will tell the tale which of today’s songs will be classics. Anyhow, This Land is your Land is almost an anthem, and I think it will remain with us for a long time. It’s such a fine song to sing and play. So, dear reader, join in. Woody Guthrie wrote this one back in the 1930’s or 40’s, and you can find many renditions of it on UTube and all the other outlets. Meanwhile, I think Woody wanted us to actually play his songs.

So join in.
