One Life, The Lives of Chester Knowles, and The Phantom Speaks

As you might know, Bumba, going under the name of Stephen Baum, has published three little novels. The second book, titled One Life or the Lives of Chester Knowles, and the third, The Phantom Speaks, are meant to go together, and are both on sale for 99 cents on Amazon. That’s not a bad price in my opinion. Also available (for 99 cents or for free if you like) is an accompanying soundtrack CD that Bumba recorded to go along with reading the books. There’s only one original song on the CD, called There Been Some Lonely Times; the others are covers which are also quoted or referenced in the books. Here’s There Been Some Lonely Times, which I like to play around with just for the fun of it.

You can hear the full soundtrack called Chester’s Songs on Soundcloud, or on CD Baby. Or, if you want a real, actual, physical CD, as well as hard copies of the books, click on Bumba Books and follow the instructions.

  1. Doing a book and accompanying soundtrack was really atmospheric in my opinion. Not only do you get the feel of the time but also get introduced to new songs and get some fine reading material as well. You can’t go wrong with these!

    1. Thank you, Steve. An audio book with the songs in the background would probably be a good “read”, but this will have to do. Cheers!
