Cheer Up

Hey everybody, cheer up. We’ll get rid of this President eventually. I still wish he could have been impeached, but surely a sound defeat in the elections is a stronger rebuke, and a more democratic statement. Also, the future promises a chance for some serious reforms. Hint, hint: the tax structure. Meanwhile, the fight goes on to see the Mueller report. People need to be marching in the streets. Otherwise, we won’t see the Mueller Report. Good luck to the people of Algeria. It takes some courage. Keep marching. And keep on the sunny side. Here’s a song to sing along with : Me and Bobby McGee by Kris Kristoferson, but played here by me and Maybank:

And another, this one by the Band, one of their best ones that they always performed: The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

  1. I wish I could share your optimism, but until he is out on the street, or back in Trump Tower, or in a place with padded walls, I cannot breathe properly. Sigh.

    1. It’s not just him. It’s what and who he represents, and what he reflects in our society. Don’t be pessimistic, because we have to fight racism, work for democracy and peace.

      1. You are quite right … he is only a symptom of a much larger disease. And yes, we must fight racism, and bigotry in all its forms, such as fighting for LGBT rights, women’s rights, and more. But I do get depressed, for it seems there is so much ignorance … so many who close their eyes and ears to facts, choosing instead to believe the words of a ‘man’ who wouldn’t know the truth if it smacked him upside the head. Sigh. Some days it’s easier to be positive than others.
